Seeking a Full-time Substance Use Specialist to provide integrated care to individuals and family members on an interdisciplinary team serving 68 adults diagnosed with serious mental illness.
The Substance Use Specialist is responsible for providing counseling, case management, and daily support regarding substance abuse and co-occurring issues. The Substance Use Specialist is an active member of the multidisciplinary ACT treatment team and is expected to perform client assessments to formulate treatment goals. This includes identifying and recommending treatment services that consumers should receive based on severity of substance use diagnosis and stage of change, establish degree risk for substance use and associated harmful behaviors, and interventions required to promote progress towards recovery. Position involves significant fieldwork and home visits. Services are provided both individually and in group settings. Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, have excellent communication skills and be able to document in an electronic health record.
Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree and/or CASAC plus at least 1 year experience in integrated mental health and substance abuse assessment and treatment. Spanish speaking a plus.
